A legal notice was placed in the official newspaper on 09/19/2008 as follows:

 

NOTICE

The Supervisor of the Town of Chazy has called for a Special Town Board Meeting to be held on Monday September 22, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.  The purpose of said meeting is to authorize the expenditure of Sewer District Type Capital Reserve Funds to build a DEC required building at the Sewer Plant.

CALL TO ORDER

 

Supervisor Staub Spiegel called the 09/22/08 Town Board Special Meeting to order at 7:00 PM for the purpose of discussing Sewer Plant Building.

 

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A NYS DEC REQUIRED BUILDING AT CHAZY SEWER PLANT USING SEWER DISTRICT EQUIPMENT TYPE CAPITAL RESERVE FUNDS SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

Councilor Cathy Devins made a motion to adopt the following resolution, seconded by Councilor Christopher Latremore.

 

5 ayes, 0 noes.  Motion carried.  Ayes - Councilor Christopher Latremore, Councilor Jerry Deno, Councilor Cathy Devins, Councilor Donald Trombly and Supervisor Staub Spiegel.  Noes - 0.

 

WHEREAS, NY State DEC, requires that a building be built at the Chazy Sewer Plant, with funds to come out of Sewer District Equipment Type Capital Reserve Funds;

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize building a building at a cost of not more than $12,000.00, of which would come from the Sewer District Equipment Type Capital reserve fund, subject to permissive referendum; and

 

            FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk advertise, in the Press-Republican a notice of adoption of resolution subject to permissive referendum, authorizing use of Sewer District Equipment Type Capital reserve funds to make such improvements, not exceeding $12,000.00.

 

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

 

Councilor Cathy Devins discussed the Town Board having a Community Day with ÒHow We Can Help YouÓ theme. Possibly October 25, 2008 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Chazy Central Rural School. Supervisor will check with the school and advertise.
