Spiegel called the 03/14/2011 Regular Town Board meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Councilor Jerry Deno made a motion that the minutes of the 02/14/2011 regular Town Board meeting be approved as submitted by the Town Clerk, seconded by Councilor Christopher Latremore.

Supervisor, Staub Spiegel, thanked the Highway Dept. for the good job of
cleaning the streets during the last snow storms.

for an update on the AT&T cell tower application. Richard Comi hired to
make a determination as to what location they should use, either the TownÕs
water tower or the existing cell tower off route 9 south of Chazy. Hope to have

FOR THE GREAT CHAZY RIVER MEMORIAL POST 1418 TO SELL BUDDY POPPIES

WHEREAS,
Phil Beaney, Commander of Great Chazy River Memorial Post 1418 requests a
proclamation be signed by the Supervisor urging citizens to purchase Buddy
Poppies on May 11 - 16, 2009;
NOW,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize the
sale of Buddy Poppies by the Great Chazy River Memorial Post 1418 during the
week of May 14 - 21, 2011; and
FURTHER
RESOLVED, that Supervisor Staub Spiegel is authorized to sign the following
Proclamation:

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the annual sale of BUDDY
POPPIES by the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States has been
officially recognized and endorsed by the governmental leaders since 1922, and
WHEREAS,
VFW BUDDY POPPIES are assembled by disabled veterans, and the proceeds of this
worthy fund-raising campaign are used exclusively for the benefit of disabled
and needy veterans and the widows and orphans of deceased veterans, and
WHEREAS, the basic purpose of the
annual sale of BUDDY POPPIES by the Veterans of Foreign Wars is eloquently
reflected in the desire to ÒHonor the Dead by Helping the LivingÓ; therefore I,
Staub Spiegel, SUPERVISOR of
the TOWN OF CHAZY do hereby urge the
citizens of this community to recognize the merits of this cause by contributing generously to its support through the
purchase of BUDDY POPPIES on the days set aside for the distribution of these
symbols of appreciation for the sacrifices of our honored dead.

urge all patriotic citizens to wear a BUDDY POPPY as mute evidence of our
gratitude to the men and women of this country who have risked their lives in
the defense of the freedoms, which we continue to enjoy as American citizens.

RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE CLINTON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS WITH
KEYS TO THE CHAZY & WEST CHAZY TOWN HALLS

the Clinton County Board of Elections has requested that each Municipality
provide a set of keys for each voting location to make it easier to set up
voting machines and other necessary items at election times;
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize the
Supervisor to provide Clinton County Board of Elections with two sets of keys,
one for the Chazy Town Hall and one for the West Chazy Town Hall, for use at
election time.

ACCEPT STORAGE OF ELECTION PRIVACY BOOTHS

the Clinton County Board of Elections has asked each Municipality if they could
store the privacy booths that are used at election time in the municipalities
halls;
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize the
Supervisor to contact the Clinton County Board of Elections and to accept
storage of privacy booths at the Chazy Town Hall and West Chazy Town Hall for
use at elections held.

DISPOSITION OF OLD VOTING MACHINES

WHEREAS,
the Town of Chazy has been notified by the Clinton County Board of Elections
that old voting machines, owned by the county, must be disposed of, the Town
has the options of 1) asking the local school district if it would like one or
more machines, 2) keeping one for historical purposes, 3) having the Town
dispose of them and keeping the proceeds, or 4) turning them over to the County
to dispose of them;
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize that
voting machine # 138874 be sent to, as it has been accepted by Chazy Central
Rural School; and further
RESOLVED, that voting
machine # 107020 be put in the Chazy Historical Room at the request of
Historian Robert Cheeseman; and further
RESOLVED, that voting
machines # 167228, # 167994, 125261 will be disposed of at a scrap dealer, to
be determined by the Town of Chazy, which will keep the proceeds; and further
RESOLVED, that the Clinton
County Board of Elections will be sent a letter describing the actions taken on
each machine, for their records.

benefits.

AUTHORIZATION FOR DAVID LOOPE TO USE OWN CELL PHONE

the new maintenance man, David Loope, will require a cell phone to make and
receive calls on behalf of the Town, and he has let the Supervisor know that he
would be willing to use his personal phone for this purpose;

reimbursement to David Loope, $30.00 per month toward his monthly bill for
those calls made and received on behalf of the Town.

CHAZY TOWN JUSTICES ANNUAL 2010 REPORTS REVIEWED

the State of New York Unified Court System requires a resolution acknowledging
that the 2010 annual reports from the Chazy Town Justices were reviewed by the
Chazy Town Board; and
WHEREAS,
the Chazy Town Justices 2010 annual reports were reviewed by the board;
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby verify that
the 2010 annual reports of the Chazy Town Justices were reviewed by the Chazy
Town Board at the regular Town Board meeting held on March 14, 2011.
