PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the Town of Chazy will hold and conduct a Public Hearing at the Town Hall of the Town of Chazy located on 9631 Route 9 in the Town of Chazy, Clinton County, New York, on the 14th day of January in the year 2008 at 7:00 oÕclock p.m. in the evening of that day on a proposed local law to enact the Cold War Vets legislation at 15%.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that at said Public Hearing, to be held at a time and place set forth above, the Town Board shall consider the proposed Local Law and hear all persons interested thereon concerning same.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize the sale of the surplus woodstove to the highest bidder, Willi Kalvaitis, 691 Fiske Rd., West Chazy, NY 12992 in the amount of $510.00.
FUEL USED REPORT
Supervisor Staub Spiegel presented a 2007 verses 2006 fuel consumption report given him by Hwy. Supt. Richard Lewis.
TOWN COUNCIL ITEMS
Councilor Christopher Latremore:
á Thanked the Board for the card sent due to the death of his mother.
á Questioned the Board about street lights out and if reported.
á Questioned the Board about burned out houses on Miner Farm Rd and Rt. 9.
á Advised that he had received a request to check on the possible help of the Town in removing extra snow off sidewalk at corner of Miner Farm Rd. (formerly Graves St.) and Rt. 9.
á Asked the Board and Hwy. Supt. to think of the possibility of reviving some form of the annual spring clean-up .
á Requests the Town Board to check into the possibility of installing a net around back-stop at Sciota Rec. Park to help keep foul balls within the playing field. Also, to add more parking on the grounds to alleviate roadside parking.
á Reports being asked by residents of the Laforest Rd. if some signs, either indicating, children at play or slow populated area could be installed as an earlier speed zone request was turned down by NYS DOT.
á Requested the possibility of some bleachers being installed at the George Deno Memorial Park (West Chazy).
á Asked if the play areaÕs at all the Rec. parks could be updated.
RECREATION PARK COMMITTEE
Supervisor Staub Spiegel advised his intentions at forming a committee to look into what is needed at updating the TownÕs Recreation Parks.
Councilor Jerry Deno:
á Asked about an update on signs for Rec. Parks.
á Advised that he sent a listing of street lights, not working in the West Chazy area, to NYSEG.
Councilor Cathy Devins:
á Questioned what was being done about burned out house on the Miner Farm Rd. Advised by Supervisor that the owner has not yet been located.
á Asked if excess snow could be removed at the intersection of Bank St. and Rt. 9, after heavy snowfalls, so as to improve visibility.
SUPERVISOR ITEMS
Supervisor Staub Spiegel:
á Advised that he will show a video of the inspection of the water tank at the next meeting.
á Hopes to set up a meeting with Bernier Carr.
á Reports receiving a request from Joe Heath asking the Boards aid in getting Masonic Lodge signs installed on State Route 22 and Fiske Rd. a County Road.
á Advised that the new Dog Control Officer provided with a contract with the Town of Mooers, is David Underwood.
á Advised that the Christmas Decoration winners have been notified and that for next year, 14 more decorations to be installed around Town are to be purchased.
á Advised that a new bathroom facility will be built at the Chazy Rec. Park replacing the old wooden one. Hopefully be done for Old Home Day.
á Received a request from Thomas Dashnaw to allow him to go to the Association of Towns annual meeting in NYC in February.
á Received request from Andrew Hemingway, 25 Gonyea Rd., for the Board to look into the possibility of installing no parking signs along part of the Gonyea Rd.
á Received confirmation from Real Property Services that the Town will receive $5/parcel as the Assessor has completed the 2007 re-assessment. It will amount to approx. $11,500.00.
á Reports having received a request for a new color printer for the Historian office from Historian Robert Cheeseman.
á Requests the Town Board change the fees process for Water and Sewer Districts dealing with apartments.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby approve Highway Superintendent Richard LewisÕs appointment of Timothy S. Lamica as the Deputy Highway Superintendent for the Town of Chazy.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize the Supervisor to send a written request to NYS DOT and Clinton County Highway Dept. for approval of 36Ó Masonic Lodge signs to be placed on Route 22, a state road and Fiske Road, a County Road.

WHEREAS, Supervisor Staub Spiegel, requests that a new bathroom be built at the Chazy Recreation Park with funds to come out of General Building Construction Type Capital Reserve Funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chazy Town Board does hereby authorize building a new bathroom at the Chazy Recreation Park at a cost of not more than $15,000.00, of which would come from the General Building Construction Type Capital reserve fund, subject to permissive referendum; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk advertise, in the Press-Republican a notice of adoption of resolution subject to permissive referendum, authorizing use of General Building Construction Type Capital reserve funds to make such improvements, not exceeding $15,000.00.
