NOTICE

The Supervisor of the Town of Chazy has called for a Town Board Work Session Meeting, at the Chazy Town Hall, 9631 Rt. 9, to be held on Monday August 4, 2008 at 6:00 p.m.  The purpose of said meeting is to discuss various issues of Town business. The public is welcome to observe.

CALL TO ORDER

 

Supervisor Staub Spiegel called the 08/04/08 Town Board Work Session to order at 6:15 PM for the purpose of discussing Town business.

 

ITEMS DISCUSSED:

 

By Councilor Christopher Latremore:

á      Possibility of developing an industrial park.

á      Computer Company that will take the old computers, printers etc. and certify that the information on the hard drives is removed.

á      The measurement for the no parking along the east side of Gonyea Road is 468 ft.

á      Pot holes on the Gonyea Road need to be repaired. Hwy Supt. R. Lewis needs to be advised.

á      Possibility of some kind of food shelf collection.

 

By Councilor Jerry Deno:

á      Contact Betty Little and Tom Sears about what can be done about lowering taxes.

 

By Councilor Cathy Devins:

á      Possibility of use of inmates on Town projects.

á      Update on new bath room at Chazy Rec. Park.

 

By Planning Brd. Chairman Thomas Dashnaw:

á      Zoning Law good as is, pertaining to outside woodstoves. Up to Board if changes are to be made.

á      Possibility of employing James Bosley to make GIS data entries for the Town.

á      Possibility of purchasing GIS software program from ESRI, Inc. on State contract for $1,244.00.

 

By Supervisor Staub Spiegel:

á      Re-imbursement of $38.44 to Jason Goodspeed for fixing horseshoe pits at George E. Deno Memorial Park.

á      Request received from Joe Heath to install Masonic signs on W.C. signs. Might set a precedent if allowed.

á      Two quotes received for cleaning the water tower. Pittsburgh Tank raised their quote from $3,500 to $4,200 but is still the lowest quote.

á      Chazy Town Hall property needs to be surveyed prior to any remodeling to clarify a possible line discrepancy.

á      Highway garage in need of a new generator as the present one does not work properly even after many repairs. It was originally purchased used and has never worked right.

á      Putting together a Town Hall committee to pursue either remodeling the Town Hall or building a New Town Hall.

á      The Beekmantown Elementary School at West Chazy about being used by Town of Chazy. Thought to be more building than the Town needed or could afford.
